The Full Senior Experience: Featuring Audrey

We had the honor of photographing Audrey for her senior year. She messaged us on Facebook with a clear idea in mind of how she wanted her senior portraits to look. We scheduled a studio visit, sat down and made a game plan for the three specific sessions she wanted, and got to work planning and prepping for her session dates.

Location #1: Lake Harbor Park

Audrey wanted 3 specific looks for her portraits. The first one being on a beach somewhere soaking in the sun. We ended up at Lake Harbor Park in Muskegon walking the beautiful trails. This was my first time visiting the park but it made for a beautiful background. On top of the beach views, there was a lot of nature to photograph Audrey with as well. While it was a bit of a walk out to the beach itself, I’d say it was worth it for the images we captured during our time here!

Location #2: Downtown Grand Rapids

For Audrey’s next session, she wanted to really show off the night life in downtown Grand Rapids. We started our Grand Rapids adventure outside of the Amway Grand walking our way around the city stopping at a lot of fun locations along the way. I brought our pop up changing tent making outfit changes a breeze for Audrey. I also had my wagon making it a breeze to haul any of her outfits and accessories. A few favorite locations we hit were the Blue Bridge, the corner of Monroe Center and Ottawa Ave, and the boardwalk behind the Amway Grand Hotel overlooking the Grand River.

Location #3: The Studio

Audrey’s third and final session request was to be in the studio. When she walked in the doors she came prepared with three outfits ready to take on the day. She wanted some nice clean backdrops and of course to tie in her Danish Festival sash and crown. Did I mention she was crowned miss Danish Festival for 2025! We had a lovely time changing things up to match her outfits and pull out her personality.

Overall, Audrey’s experience was a great one. With her 3 sessions we were able to tie in everything she wanted and take our time bringing her visions to life. I now have had the joy of teaching her about photography. She’s doing a 1:1 mentorship with me and I can’t wait to see what she does with this knowledge.

If you’ve got something specific you’re looking for, we would love to customize a senior session just for you. Don’t be afraid to share your ideas and let me bring those to life! Now booking class of 2027. Find more info here.
