I’ve known Josh for many years since his sister is one of my best friends, so when he asked me if I would photograph his Mackinac Island wedding I of course said yes! They told me they were getting married on the island at the Inn at Stonecliffe. I had never been there before but anticipating a stunning wedding upon arrival we were not disappointed! The Inn is absolutely stunning. It overlooks the water and the bridge, we could even see the bridge from our hotel room window! It was absolutely perfect.

Upon arrival to the island, we were certainly prepared for the wedding day. We packed all of our gear, got it all on the ferry, and back off the ferry, then we made our way to find the shuttle to the inn. What we weren’t prepared for was missing our shuttle to the Inn and having to trek the 2 miles uphill to get there. But with that being said, what’s a destination Mackinac Island wedding day without its perks haha. We made it there in one piece with plenty of time to spare because I like to be ahead of schedule especially on wedding days.

Once it was time for us to jump into gear, one of us made our way to the bride to capture her getting ready and the other headed over to the groom to start with group photos. With having two photographers, it was easy enough for us to keep the couple separated since they didn’t want to do a first look. Mary did however do a first look with her father and it was such a beautiful moment for the two of them. Once they were ready we got in our carriages and made our way to a gorgeous historic chapel on the island. Like I said, it was all perfect!

We want to thank Mr. & Mrs. Wymer for having us there during their big day. Their families and friends were so welcoming and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect destination. It was an amazing experience that we will never forget and we can’t wait for the next Mackinac Island wedding!
