We chose to do Rozlin’s Ionia teen portraits in the studio this year showcasing her love of band and playing the saxophone. I have been loving all of the tween and teen photos this year but Rozlin’s are extra special for me! I’ve known this girl since she was born. We both share a love of the tenor sax and I couldn’t wait to photograph her with her instruement.

What does this even mean? Well, we offer teen portraits through our Tween & Teen Influencer Program. This program gives your tween or teen a confidence boost and allows them to showcase some of their passions and hobbies through photographs. The minute I found out Rozlin was going to be playing the tenor sax, I had a vision in my head to do just that. Through these images we were able to showcase her love of the instrument and give off a snippet of her personality. She rocked this session!

As someone who loved band and playing the tenor sax, it makes my heart so happy to see young people enjoying music as much as Rozlin does. Band is more then just a class, it truly helped shape me in to the person I am today. Ionia’s band program is incredible. If you have a student interested in music, let them try out band!

One of my favorite parts about photographing teens and young adults is capturing their personalities. They usually get in front of my camera and can be a little shy or nervous. I love seeing them come out of their shells and sometimes they even start coming up with their own ideas for poses!
